Turn your extra toilet paper rolls into easy to make flower decorations.
Warning! The use of a hot glue gun for this craft requires adult supervision for all children under the age of 12. If you don't have a hot glue gun, you can use Elmer's glue or rubber cement, however, a hot glue gun is most effective.
Materials:
- Card board toilet paper or paper towel rolls (at least one per flower)
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Optional: Paint, glitter, string, etc.
Instructions:
Step 1: Remove any extra scraps of toilet paper from the roll.
Step 3: Cut a ½” wide strip to make a ring.
Step 5: Using the hot glue gun, place a dot of glue on the outside of a ring close to one of the points.
Step 6: Take the next ring and place it adjacent to the first ring with the points of the rings together.
Step 7: Firmly pinch rings together where glue is. Hold for 5 seconds. Be careful not to touch the glue itself! Only touch the rings!
Step 9: Place a dot of glue on the outside of rings 1 & 4. Place 5th ring to complete flower shape and pinch both sides of the ring where the dots of glue are, again for 5 seconds.
Your flower form is complete!
Add paint, glitter, feathers, or any other decorations to truly bring your class to life. Use white paint and/or glitter to make them look more like snowflakes for winter decorations.
Try cutting rings of varying widths to create even more unique crafts for your home. Just remember to cut rings of the same width for each flower you create.
